The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house with a combined gross home income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined residence revenue will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of income.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or plan to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
